This action seeks to rectify the frequently tense dynamic between online gambling platforms and the partners responsible for driving traffic to their websites. Karhu highlighted the existing absence of contractual certainty for these affiliates, a situation that stands in stark contrast to practices within other business-to-business industries. The PGAA’s objective is to establish a fundamental level of contractual protection for these partners, who often encounter unilaterally imposed terms and conditions susceptible to alteration without prior notification.
The overarching aim is to cultivate a fairer and more open framework. Within this system, affiliates can confidently endorse operators with the assurance that their compensation and the value attributed to acquired players are safeguarded. Bojoko has pledged to facilitate preliminary discussions between the PGAA and operators, extending an open invitation to all affiliate members to participate in this endeavor.
Karhu underscored the distinctive vulnerability inherent in the iGaming affiliate sector. He asserted that conducting business without contractual protections is not viable in the long term. Furthermore, it exposes both companies and their workforce to considerable jeopardy.
