CustomerScan Launches AI-Powered Facial Recognition to Support Self-Exclusion in Casinos

CustomerScan has engineered a facial identification program to assist casinos and similar gaming establishments in recognizing individuals who have willingly opted out of gambling activities. This budget-friendly program operates on any typical Microsoft Windows PC equipped with one or more webcams.

Crafted with contributions from specialists and consultants at the Visual Geometry Group at Oxford University, the program enables those who have elected to self-exclude to have their data, including their image, stored safely in a cloud-based repository. The program can recognize a self-excluded person with over 99% precision in under a tenth of a second.

When the CustomerScan program detects an individual from the self-exclusion repository on a live camera stream, personnel are promptly notified through an application, WhatsApp, or email. The notification furnishes the individual’s name, self-exclusion timeframe, and other pertinent details. This technology will aid operators in adhering to self-exclusion guidelines and prioritizing the security and welfare of their patrons.

The launch of ClientScan, a pioneering AI-driven platform dedicated to protecting individuals in self-isolation, filled us with immense excitement,” shared Laura Bedborough, Business Development Director and Co-Founder of ClientScan.

She elaborated that their advanced technology utilizes a bespoke convolutional neural network to guarantee both swiftness and precision, all while upholding the utmost levels of data protection.

ClientScan is meticulously crafted to tackle the specific hurdles of self-exclusion within the UK’s gambling sector, and Bedborough stressed that their system is engineered to function seamlessly within the stringent regulatory guidelines established by the Gambling Commission.
