Svenska Spel CEO Lennart Käll Steps Down After Seven Years

Lennart Käll, the Chief Executive of the Swedish gaming provider Svenska Spel, is resigning following almost seven years leading the organization. Having served in the role since 2011, Käll pointed to the accomplishment of all goals and the forthcoming licensing framework for gaming as motivations for his exit.

These targets included establishing Svenska Spel as a responsible gaming enterprise with a robust market share, providing appealing products and customer offerings.

Käll expressed assurance in the company’s trajectory, noting that Svenska Spel is well-positioned for the restructured gaming sector and fresh competitive environment that will accompany the new licensing structure. This updated system is set to be enacted by January 1st, 2019, subsequent to endorsement by Swedish lawmakers in June.

Käll will continue in his capacity until the summer months while the company seeks his replacement. Erik Strand, Chairman of Svenska Spel, verified that the search for a new CEO is already in progress.

The Swedish Gaming Commission commended Lennart Käll as he gets ready to depart, stating, “The Commission is incredibly thankful for Lennart’s guidance over the previous seven years. He’s performed admirably leading Svenska Spel, guaranteeing that the People’s Gaming Enterprise is well-situated for the reorganization slated for the year’s end.”

For those not in the know, Svenska Spel emerged in 1997 from the fusion of two government-owned entities. They maintain a substantial footprint in Sweden, vending their offerings via a web of thousands of representatives, eateries, and even digitally.

Looking back on his term, Käll conveyed satisfaction in the accomplishments of Svenska Spel, highlighting their triumph in counterbalancing accountability with expansion. He mentioned that Svenska Spel is prepared to accept the shifts approaching the gaming industry.
