Casino Cosmopol, the land-based gambling brand under the Swedish National Lottery, will soon see a change at the helm.
The current leader, Mr. Järden, will be stepping down from his position as Chief Executive Officer by the year’s end. He has held this role since November 2008, and made the announcement public through a post on his LinkedIn profile.
Mr. Järden’s journey with Casino Cosmopol began in June 2002, initially as the Security Manager. He later ascended to the position of General Manager and ultimately took the reins as CEO nearly two decades ago.
Prior to his tenure with the operator, Mr. Järden dedicated over nine years to law enforcement. He served as a Deputy Detective Inspector for the Swedish National Criminal Investigation Service for a period of 18 months, starting in January 2001 and concluding in June 2002.
Mr. Järden also held the role of Detective Inspector for the National Criminal Investigation Service for a period of five and a half years, and served as a police officer for three and a half years at the Stockholm Police Department.
Adding to his impressive resume, Mr. Järden has served as President of the European Casino Association since February 2015.
In his announcement, Mr. Järden reflected on his time as CEO, describing it as “an exciting roller coaster ride,” highlighting events such as the opening of the casino in Stockholm, where the Deputy Prime Minister performed the ceremonial first spin of the roulette wheel.
