Entain Cuts Jobs in Australia Amidst Expansion

Entain has declared that they are releasing some employees in Australia. They claim this is due to their rapid expansion in the country and the need to adjust their operations to maintain momentum.

The announcement followed a newspaper report indicating that Entain was reducing over 50 positions in Australia. The precise number of individuals losing their jobs remains unclear, but some sources suggest it could reach as high as 80.

An Entain representative stated that the job cuts are part of their strategy for continued growth in Australia. They explained that they are restructuring their business to prepare for the next phase of expansion. Unfortunately, this process involves some job losses.

Speculation about layoffs at Entain has been circulating for some time. A former employee revealed hearing that up to 80% of the workforce at Entain and PartyPoker, a subsidiary of Entain, had been let go.

At that point in time, a spokesperson for Entain informed iGB that Entain was continuously undergoing change and avoided directly addressing the circulating gossip.

“As a global enterprise that is consistently expanding through natural growth and mergers, we are perpetually adapting to guarantee that we are capable of fully leveraging the substantial opportunities that lie in the future and ensure that we persistently deliver the most exceptional service to our clientele.”
